A rare 1930’s hand puppet of fictional super villain Dr. Fu Manchu complete with ‘cat claw’ finger knives.

It’s a large example with the head being made from papier-mache and hand painted. The intricate outfit is made from silk & felt and he has a horse hair ponytail.

Fu Manchu is a fictional Chinese criminal mastermind and supervillain created by Sax Rohmer in 1913. The character first appeared in the 1912 short story “The Zayat Kiss” and has since been featured in novels, films, radio dramas, comic books, and television shows over the last 100 years. Fu Manchu is a tall, lean, evil genius with a close-shaven head, Shakespearean brow, and cat-like green eyes. He’s armed with advanced scientific weapons and obsessed with world domination.
