marvellous set of 4 good quality Egyptian stone Canopic Urns – 20th century

The four sons of Horus were a group of four gods in ancient Egyptian religion, who were essentially the personifications of the four canopic jars, which accompanied mummified bodies. Canopic jars used by the ancient Egyptians during the mummification process to store and reserve the viscera of their owner for the afterlife. Carved with hieroglyphs across the front of each jar. They have removable lids and are perfectly useable.
