A wonderfully unusual and characterful antique Set of Shelves, cleverly crafted from turned wooden cotton spools French – C.1900

This whimsical and unique piece embodies rustic ingenuity and folk-art charm. The architectural form features three tiered shelves framed by rows of stacked spools, with beautifully scalloped edges and hand-carved detailing throughout. The top is crowned with a sculptural wooden finial sphere. Finished in its original brown paint which has a warm patina. Perfect for displaying small treasures, curiosities, or as a standalone decorative statement, this shelf blends effortlessly into farmhouse, bohemian, or primitive style interiors. It’s a little wobbly when free standing and would greatly benefit from being fixed to a wall.
