Victorian Rum Cask Stick Stand
Category: Sold
A fantastic 19th century whiskey or rum cask with original British Royal coat of arms.
This coopered oak barrel with iron strapping and painted Royal crest would have most likely been used on a naval ship to store gun powder or grog (rum diluted with water and citrus fruits). Grog was a popular drink for sailors on long voyages.
It now makes for a rare and decorative item often used as stick or umbrella stands. The wood panels sit a little loose in the strapping but remains is perfectly useable and has a great look!
