Mahogany Bank of Drawers

A rather handsome English mahogany military bank of drawers C.1900.

Clever design with each compartment containing a removable lock box, beautifully made from mahogany with brass campaign style handles and hooks/eyelets to fasten each box. There are 24 compartments of the same size all in good working order, each opens and closes as they should and runs smoothly. The original housing is made from pine with a painted faux mahogany finish. Minor cosmetic wear, marks, scuffs and loss to some of the beading however overall in good condition considering age and purpose. It spent many years in a hardware shop but almost definitely started life housing military documents or contents.
