French Bronze Billiard Return

A incredible French bronze billiard table pocket return displayed on a period stand, dating from the 1800’s.

Finely cast in bronze, with an unusual design including an articulated child’s hand mounted to an ornate shield including scroll and floral detail. It displays beautifully on a ceramic and brass stand of the same period and can be displayed open or closed. The ball would drop into the pocket activating the hand to open and receive the ball.
