A superb 19th century naive school oil painting depicting a band of jolly pirates on a raft with Jolly Roger flag and ships in the background. Lovely detail and patina with craquelure to the paint. Indistinctly signed to the lower left. Painted in oil on canvas.

Provenance – former property of the late legendary movie actor Michael Gough. Who featured in many horror movies in the 60’s & 70’s and portrayed Alfred in the 90’s Batman movies. Sleepy hollow, Corpse bride and Alice in wonderland in his later years.
