A fascinating Victorian oil painting of Gentlemen a maniacally laughing C.1880.

Housed in the original frame and naively painted in oil on a Windsor & Newton canvas. It depicts a gentlemen with rosy cheeks laughing hysterically, he wears a tricorn hat, pair of Pince-nez style glasses and a high collar. Very unusual for the time to paint a sitter with extreme expressions. It has lots of character and suits its timeworn appearance, including various small tears and touch ins.
