Zinc Apothecary Jar
A stunning & rare Zinc specie or apothecary jar that was produced for the National Pharmaceutical Association in 1989. The series comprised of six different jars, each of which was limited to just 500 worldwide and includes a 22ct gold plated cap.
They are modelled on an original early 19th century form used to house crude or powdered drugs, each container is individually coloured from within to form a background and hand applied armorial lettering in gilt, heraldic colours and gold leaf is then applied externally to faithfully replicate the originals. Each of the vessels have been individually made by hand and therefore are unique from the manufacturer Carlyle Fine Collections ltd who produced pieces of pharmaceutical & medical significance.
These jars were produced as exact replicas of the originals, in very limited quantities to commemorate the 150 year anniversary of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society having been founded in 1841.
Its a large example in excellent overall condition and ready to grace any collection. The Victorian lions feet bases are for display purposes only but are available at an extra cost.
