Italian Mirrored Console Table
A simply stunning and unique Italian made mirrored console table in the Rococo style, dating from the early 20th century.
Excellent quality construction, the large Rococo style mirror frame is carved from pine with a decorative layer of gesso and finally a beautiful gilded finish. The console table and base is made from a superb combination of ebonised wood, burr walnut, a gilt-wood support/leg with a removable reverse painted glass top. This outstanding statement piece is presented in excellent and completely original condition, with only minor cosmetic wear to the front edge of the table. The mirrored plate is clean and shows no signs of wear, the original backing is also present, there is a date & signature on the reverse which may or may not have been done by the maker. The clever design means the base and table can remove from the main body of the mirror via dowels for easier transportation. It also features two useful drawers which open and close as they should. This is a one off piece with all the grandeur you would expect from Italian design of this period.
It needs to be positioned against a wall for stability and would be a perfect piece for the hallway or as a decadent vanity table.
