H.M.S London Scratch Built Model
£250.00
A fantastic 1930’s scratch built model diorama of the Royal Navy cruiser, H.M.S London 🚢
It’s a large and a well made example, lovingly crafted from wood and plaster with a hand painted finish. The impressive and detailed cruiser sits on a heavy wood base, with particularly good intricately sculpted plaster waves. It’s solid with lovely patina and displays well. Various old repairs, cosmetic wear and minor loss to be expected. Most likely made by someone who served on the ship.
The H.M.S London was a heavy cruiser Royal Navy cruiser laid down in Portsmouth in 1926. She served with the 1st Cruiser Squadron until 1939 and was the flagship of Admiral Max Horton. H.M.S London aided in the pursuit of the German battleship Bismarck in 1941.
