French study of cherubs
A pretty French study of several playful cherubs,
dating from the late 18th century.
Competently drawn in lead on paper and most likely once part of a larger piece. There are 4 scenes depicting cherubs, drapery and some architectural design. There is some small writing beneath one of the cherubs and a visible watermark when held to the light. There is some minor discolouration otherwise in good condition. It’s been mounted in a later gilt frame with a glazed front for protection.
