French Plaster Urn

An impressive and very decorative French plaster urn made by        ‘De Pose’, dating from the 1920’s.

Good quality, well cast from plaster with a neo-classical aesthetic, including pastoral scenes on each side and a pair of wondrous allegorical Chimera handles (mythical beast composed from various animal parts). It’s complete with a lovely painted ivory & gilt finish, presented in good solid condition with minor cosmetic wear, no previous repairs. Signed by the maker ‘De Pose’ at the base. A scarce and striking statement piece indeed.
