A superb coopered oak whiskey barrel or cask with Royal coat of arms & Edward VIII initials on the reverse.
Dating from the short reign of King Edward the 8th, from 20th of January – 11 of December 1936, making it a rare and collectible example. As to be expected its incredibly well made from oak with banded copper straps and in very good original condition all round, the beautifully painted coat of arms & Edward’s initials are both clearly visible and correct. Used as a stick stand at a country house in Windsor for most of its life.
