Champagne Grape Hod

A magnificent French champagne grape hod from Château Valaret, dating from the first half of the 20th century.

Well made from galvanised steel with leather shoulder straps and wonderful hand painted lettering & coats of arms including  the French flag with crowned fleur de lis & fleur de Lis with V. It’s presented in good solid condition with cosmetic wear sufficient with age and purpose.

Traditionally decorated with Folk Art or the vineyard Chateau names and images, they were often painted for celebration or in reverence of the local vineyard.

Now used mainly as Champagne and wine coolers, filled with ice in the summer months, perfect at weddings or garden parties. The other favourite all year round use is for dramatic and beautiful floral displays or as garden planters or log buckets.
